The Maitland Symphony Orchestra performs Winter Dreams at MPC

Home/Events/The Maitland Symphony Orchestra performs Winter Dreams at MPC
You are invited to attend the annual holiday concert presented by the Maitland Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, December 15th. The concert will include traditional favorites from The Nutcracker by Tschaikowsky and familiar melodies of the Christmas season such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Winter Wonderland”. A special feature will be a first performance in Florida of a contemporary work by Michael Mahadeen called “Winter Lights”. This composition had its first performance in New Jersey upon winning the 2008 Colonial Symphony Composition Contest. It depicts a winter landscape with the swirling colors of the Aurora Borealis. A special performance by our principal oboist, Clarissa Stabile will highlight the program with the beautiful “Gabriel’s Oboe” from The Mission by Morricone/Mancini. No holiday concert would be complete without a Leroy Anderson piece and this one is less familiar called, “Forgotten Dreams.” Please join us to dream together with music from the past, from the heavens and into the present. Bring your family and enjoy this free concert presented under the auspices of the Performing Arts of Maitland. Call 321-303-1404 for information.
