Poets/Writers
Maitland Poets & WritersThe purpose of Maitland Poets & Writers is to foster the growth of literary arts in Maitland and its surrounding communities, and not only shine a spotlight on established literary artists but provide opportunities for the public to come and experience the joy of creative writing. Workshops Interested in exploring creative writing with Maitland Poets & Writers? At our writing workshops, you will be encouraged to experiment and tap into your true voice. Maitland Poets & Writers offers creative writing workshops in partnership with Maitland Public Library on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Workshops will run from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. and are open to all writers 18+, beginning or experienced. There is no fee to attend, but PAM asks that participants make a donation. Maitland Poets & Writers Workshop proceeds solely benefit Maitland Poets & Writers and enable Performing Arts of Maitland to continue to bring literary opportunities to the community. Seating is limited to twelve participants, so please register no later than the Friday before the workshop. Important: If you do not register prior to the workshop, we cannot guarantee you a spot. For directions to Maitland Public Library, please visit http://www.maitlandpubliclibrary.org/. Readings Maitland Poets & Writers has partnered with the Maitland Art Center to provide literary readings as part of Culture & Cocktails. On the second Friday of each month, our featured readers will join local artists and musicians to showcase the incredible talent that exists right here in Central Florida’s backyard. After the readings, meet and mingle with the poets and writers, buy their books, chat about the art of writing and other literary events happening in Orlando. |
